
Khanewal — The 10th annual PUF festival was dubbed as the most popular event in Pakistan. The contest attracts thousands of people who come to this remote village and pee on the USA flag every year. Although this year, the minimum age limit required to pee on the flag was reduced to “10 years” from “21 years”.
“These are the kind of events that bring all Pakistanis together”, said Hashim while speaking to Roznama Jawani. Hashim had traveled all the way from Karachi to be a part of this exciting festival. Another participant Moulvi Hasnain Paracha from Lahore told Roznama Jawani that he wished Pakistani government took more positive steps like holding this festival. He said, “This is such a glorious day. I am so excited that I could pee on all the flags of the world”.
Another person, Karam Ilahi said that he had brought his 15 year old son to be a part of this festival and be a part of a family ritual that had started 10 years back when him and his then alive father had tried to pee together on the flag in the first ever PUF Festival. Karam said that due to his stage fright he was unable to go and was still facing the same problem. He said he was seeing a shrink and he should be able to join the festivities next year.
