Altaf Hussain has accused a Catholic priest of taking “undue advantage” of him. According to him, the incidents of sexual abuse happened when he went to the priest to confess his sins on several occasions. Mr. Hussain’s lawyer has filed a molestation case against the Catholic priest who allegedly has “..done more than just inappropriate touching” with Altaf Hussain, he briefed a press conference called at Mr. Hussain’s Edgeware residence and party offices.
The lawyer briefed the news teams present that the leader of the Karachi based political party, under heavy guilt for things he had done and things which he was about to do, had been visiting a local church since he left Pakistan. The lawyer added that Mr. Altaf Hussain’s emotional vulnerability was taken advantage of.
An official investigation is now underway of the Catholic priest of German descent who is alleged to have sexually abused Altaf Hussain “…almost every time they were in the box”, Roznama Jawani heard the lawyer say.
The Catholic church in the UK has confirmed that an investigation of the accused Father Doumast Takitt is underway.
Altaf Hussain’s lawyer has said that according to Mr. Hussain the priest encouraged Mr. Hussain to confess his sins to him and further told Mr. Hussain to “…hold the ‘priestly shaft of absolution’ while you confess.” Mr. Hussain has further told his lawyer that the priest asked him to inform him of the amount of guilt he felt by tightening or loosening his grip on the shaft of absolution.
Mr. Hussain’s lawyer at the press conference told the media persons further that the priest used to tell Mr. Hussain that “…good boys don’t cry”. Mr. Hussain allegedly was told that the shaft would let go of some cleanser which he should use to clean his hands with. Although it does sound like a metaphor, Mr. Hussain’s lawyer insisted that on several occasions Mr. Hussain did receive some cleansing liquid “…which did seem familiar to him [Altaf Hussain]”.
The lawyer added that his client did not realize what was happening because it was “darker than usual” in the confession boxes and that Mr. Hussain’s glasses blurred his vision further. It wasn’t until recently that the priest had started to ask of Mr. Altaf Hussain to get on his knees while he confessed. The good lawyer said, “My client was asked to kneel in the confession to feel humbled, to hold the shaft of absolution firmly, and speak directly into it.”
Sources close to Altaf Hussain have confirmed that Mr. Hussain has been depressed lately about these incidents. Further investigation has revealed that Mr. Hussain did not see this coming.
