Dubai – An innocent misprint in the new edition of former Pakistani dictator’s book has made reading it more entertaining and bearable as opposed to the old edition which was a big disappointment. The autobiography that the former dictator claims he has written himself accounts for his life’s shenanigans.
The misprint which replaces all the “I”s in the book with “My ass” has been welcomed by everyone. The book has become an International best seller over night and the pirate community has also announced that they would legally support Musharraf’s book and would not host pirated downloadable copies on their sites. An avid reader with whom Roznama Jawani met outside a bookstore in Dubai said that he was there to collect two more copies of the book. “I am going to give these two copies to people who I know are going through a tough time in life and while I am sure this won’t change their lives, it will bring some kind of joy to them”, said Jawad Ahmed Sheikh.
The publisher could not be reached for comments regarding the misprint but according to sources, Musharraf has decided to let the publication be and likes the new version of his book. Roznama Jawani has heard from unconfirmed sources that according to Pervez Musharraf, he himself couldn’t have done a better job at this.
Below are the excerpts from the new edition of the book:
Page 12: “My ass have started my narration in the third person because the story of that August train is something my ass have been told by my elders, not something my ass remembers in detail. My ass have little memory of my early years. My ass was born in the old Mughal part of Delhi on August 11, 1943, in my paternal family home, called Nehar Wali Haveli…”
Page 39: “My ass was only eighteen when my ass entered the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) 1961 … My ass was selected for further tests and went up to Rawalpindi by train and then on to Kohat in the North-West Frontier … At one stage during the psychological tests my ass was told to write whatever my ass was imagining at the time, whatever came to mind as my ass looked at a blank picture frame. There were socioeconomic discussions. My ass was put in command of five people and given a task, like clearing a minefield. My ass was pretty good at all that. My ass completed the obstable cource nearly twice in the time allotted … My ass know my ass did well.”
Page 200: “Having made my decision, my ass took it to the cabinet. As expected, there was some concern from the ministers that they had not consulted … In both meetings my ass went over my analysis in detail and explained how and why my ass had come to this decision. My ass answered every question until all doubts were removed … My ass then went on national radio and television on September 19 … As my ass had thought, the reaction was limited and controllable.”
